An invitation to discover the authentic beauty of the surroundings, amidst medieval villages, suspended pathways, and Bergamasque horizons, only to rediscover every evening the pleasure of coming home.
Stepping outside the gates of Cascina Belvedì does not mean leaving its peace behind, but rather carrying it with you along the pathways. We have learned that the beauty of these valleys is best discovered one step at a time, letting stone, water, and history guide your way. Here are a few itineraries we love to suggest.
Clanezzo: a fairytale setting of stone
Just a few minutes from us, where the Imagna stream flows into the Brembo river, lies the village of Clanezzo. It is a magical place, suspended between the Middle Ages and 19th-century engineering. Walking down toward the river feels like stepping into a time machine: The Bridges and the "Porto": You can cross the thousand-year-old Attone Bridge, made of rough stone, which once marked the border and customs post toward Almenno. Right beside it, the suspended footbridge—the famous "dancing bridge"—has been defying the river for over 130 years with its light, vibrating structure. The Castle: An ancient defensive manor transformed into a stately palace. Walking along Via Regina Teodolinda to catch a glimpse of its double loggia amidst the lush woods is an experience that reconnects you with history. The spirit of the village: Do not miss a visit to the 18th-century church of San Gottardo, where paintings by masters such as Ceresa and Salmeggia reveal an artistic richness unexpected for such a compact hamlet.
Ascents and descents: between peaks and bike paths
For those seeking the breath of the forest, Monte Ubione offers a rejuvenating ascent. You can hike to the summit or pause for reflection by the old Enel basin and the Partisan's grave—places where human memory has fused with nature. If you prefer linearity and gentle movement, the cycling path that glides from Clanezzo toward Valle Imagna is the perfect itinerary for a sunlit morning.
Beyond the border: Bergamasque horizons
If you are looking for Belle Époque elegance, San Pellegrino Terme remains the natural choice. A word of advice: on your way back, stop by the Locatelli Farm. It is a short, sweet walk, perfect for experiencing firsthand the origin of those cheeses you love to find on your breakfast table. For lovers of sacred art, the Cornabusa Sanctuary in Valle Imagna offers a shrine nestled directly into the rockface, while a tour of the Romanesque churches in Almenno—with the circular purity of San Tomè—is a journey into the geometry of the spirit.
Finally, many of our guests love to head toward the water: the atmospheric shores of Lake Lecco or the quiet charm of Monte Isola on Lake Iseo. And, of course, Bergamo’s Città Alta—a labyrinth of stone that deserves to be explored without a map, guided only by the silhouette of the Venetian walls and the rhythm of your footsteps on centuries-old cobblestones.
Returning to Cascina Belvedì after a day of exploring feels just like coming home. It means finding that still point where everything began, ready to be cradled once again by the evening silence.
